A Lot of Crap!

Hayden walked up the front walkway to Mother Goose the other day. He was sporting a bulging backpack. The daycare lady said to him, "Wow, Hayden! That is a big backpack!" He quickly replied, " I know! It's full of a lot of CRAP!"

My Baby Started Kindergarten!

I can't believe my baby started kindergarten! Where has the time gone! Ady was excited for the first day of school. She came in to my room at 5:00 am to ask if it was time to get up. I told her no and pulled her into bed with me. Every five minutes she was asking if it was time to get up yet. When she finally got there, she was so happy to see all her friends and to sit in the "kindergarten area" of the room. Notice she is wearing a pretty dress! She always has to be the princess!

The End of Another Summer :(

I can't believe we have come to the end of another summer. I don't know if it is the pregnancy hormones or the fact that it was an awesome summer with my great family, but it makes me cry just to think about it. I have loved spending the summer at home with my Ady and Hayden. They are getting older and it is so much fun to see the new things they can do that they couldn't last summer. Ady can cross the monkey bars and Hayden can ride his bike with training wheels. They are such great kids who love being together and fill our home with laughter and happiness. I cannot imagine my life without them.
I have been working day and night the last two weeks trying to get my classroom made over from a pre-school/kindergarten to a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade room. They have been such troopers. They have entertained themselves around the school for hours on end without complaining. I would never have been able to get done what I needed to get done if they had not been so good.
My sister Lisa came and helped and it was great spending time with her. She was excellent at getting started and organinzing the whole shebang. She has vision and taste that I cannot even compare with.
My wonderful husband Richard was right there by my side through the crazy weeks. In addition to working at Hoku and the railroad (sometimes in Nampa) he would come by the school anytime he was not working and help. He built me some fabulous shelves that have made all the other teachers completely jealous. He even spent 10 hours working on them Friday to have them finished for the start of school Monday. It was 100 degrees that day and he was such a trooper working through my stressed induced crankiness. I love him so much and I know he is always there to help me when I need it. Thanks Honey!
Last Tuesday, I took the day off of preparing the room and took the kids to the zoo and rock slide park. I felt they deserved one last fun filled day before it all came to an end. They had a ball with their Auntie Kristi and cousins Lexie, Masi, and Tyke. We had planned a day at the pool, but the day dawned breezy and a little cooler, so we opted for the zoo. It was perfect. Auntie Staci and Spencer met us at the rock slide park (that is what my kids call Ross Park) towards the end of the afternoon. It was nice to chat and watch the kids enjoy themselves. I had wanted to take pictures to document our last days of summer, but being prego and a little nuts, I forgot the camera. :(
Saturday we took a trip to Heise to spend the day with Grandma and Grandpa Simpson. It was nice to just have a day off without having to stress about school. We had planned to swim, but later found out Kristi and her kids were also coming up. Ady and I took a shopping trip to Idaho Falls with Kristi, Lexie, Masi, Grandma, and Staci, while Richard and Hayden stayed in Heise to fish and ride 4-wheelers with Grandpa and Tyke. I think we all ended up enjoying our afternoon. When Ady and I got back to Heise, everyone loaded up and drove to Rexburg for Sushi dinner. It took forever for the food to get there and the kids were sure they were going to starve to death, but once everyone was fed, their moods improved immensely! We drove back to the trailer for ghost stories around the campfire and s'mores. It was a nice day and it felt nice to relax together as a family.
I am sad to see the summer end, but I hope I have given my kids some wonderful memories. I love summer and the freedom that comes with it. I know it will be a great fall with Hayden's 4th birthday and a new baby. Life is full of adventures and it is great to know there are more memories just waiting to be created!

The Wisdom of a Three Year Old

I had Tyke and Hayden in my classroom while I worked this week. They were so cute just playing and entertaining themselves. When my cell phone receives a pic message, it goes "I got mail, I got mail, YEAH!" over and over. A few minutes after receiving a pic message I hear Tyke, still playing with the magnets saying, "What the hell, what the hell! YEAH!" I informed him while trying not to crack up that that is not what my phone was saying. He innocently looks up at me and asks, "What is it saying then?" That's when I really did lose it! Ahhh... the wisdom...

Hayden was looking through a book in Sacrement meeting today. I was so happy because he was actually being quiet! There was a picture of a butterfly on one page. After studying it for a few minutes he looks at me and loudly announces that butterflies are made of peanut butter. Aahhh... the wisdom...

The other night Hayden was talking about his new brother that is in mommy's tummy. He was so excited to have a new brother until he found out that the brother was not going to be three like him. He could not comprehend why we would possibly even want to have a baby if it wasn't going to be three and play with him. I think he thought he was getting a new best friend! Aahh...the wisdom!
